Who: Asian American: College Students, Politicians, Civic Leaders, Community Organizers, Professors, Professionals etc. –Co-hosted by the Asian American Round Table, Asian Business Students Association,
Texas Asian Pan-hallenic Council, and sponsored by Piryx
When: Sunday October 5, 2008 time: 6-7PM
Where: The University of Texas at Austin, UTC 2.108
Why: To help with the general apathy that Asian Americans have towards politics
How: A pay-per view worthy debate featuring Shandon Phan (McCain) and Ramey Ko (Obama) in the heart of Austin, TX. Austin is the most democratic city in the most republican state in the world. With the backdrop of the Texas Capitol and the surroundings of THE University of Texas at Austin…should be an event for the century
Moreover: Potential after-party co-hosted by TAPC and ABSA (maybe Round Table) with proceeds benefiting orgs and some cool cause

This is going to be a great event. It’ll be very interesting to see the dialogue between these two great leaders who have so much in common and yet such vast philosophical differences. I can hardly wait!

It is because of youthful inexperience self promoters like Shandon Phan that some of us Vietnamese don’t recognize him as a part of our community.
Shandon Phan is so full of himself he doesn’t realize no one likes him. He is an army of one in his Republican club, he has no friends because he is shameless when it comes to taking credit for everything. This kid has a lot to learn about the definition of leadership. You earn it you don’t call yourself a community leader.
