Minnesota State Senator Mee Moua Endorses Obama
Posted by keithMinnesota State Senator Mee Moua has announced her endorsement of Barack Obama for President.
“I’ve never been so excited, so moved and so inspired by the opportunity each of us have to choose a new President for this great nation,” said Senator Moua, who was elected in 2002 to represent District 67 of St. Paul.
“I believe Barack Obama is the best choice to lead our country in this unique, difficult, but promising time in our history,” said Senator Moua.
Senator Moua is the first Hmong American in the U.S. elected to a state legislature. She is serving her third term in the Minnesota Senate, currently as Chair of the Judiciary Committee.
“I have tremendous respect for the work and passion of Senator Hillary Clinton. I admire the compelling ideas of John Edwards. But at this moment in our country’s history, we need a President who can rally Americans from all walks of life for our common causes in realizing the social, economic and political justices in this country. I also believe that Barack Obama will be a President who can restore the integrity and credibility our country on the world stage,” said Senator Moua.
Senator Moua is also a member of the Democratic National Committee and a board member of the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum.
