Lisa Ling Rolls Up Her Sleeves in Austin
Posted by Asian Americans for ObamaLisa Ling has been working hard to help put Sen. Obama over the top here in Austin. As a journalist, Lisa faced a very difficult decision on whether to come out publicly in support of a candidate in this race. To paraphrase, she decided in the end that we are far too critical of a point in our history for people to simply stay on the sidelines. This is an election of a lifetime, and an opportunity like this to change this country and the world for the better may not come along again for quite some time.
The Obama campaign bloggers found a few moments to sit down with Lisa on Saturday as she volunteered to make some phone calls. Here is the post from the campaign blog:
Polls open in less than 48 hours here in the Lone Star State, so all
hands are on deck making sure people know where to go on March 4th to
vote in the primary and participate in the caucus that evening.
You can find your polling and caucus locations here.
Our office here in downtown Austin is packed with people making phone calls and getting lists of doors to knock on.

Among
our volunteers making phone calls yesterday was journalist Lisa Ling.
We sat down with Lisa after she finished her calls to hear why she’s
become such a strong supporter of Barack Obama.
The primary-caucus is almost here! Find your nearest campaign office and do your part to change this country!

Earlier, I watched Lisa Ling’s video of support for Barack Obama and can’t stop wondering why she is not featured prominently in the campaign. Here is a beautiful woman, brillant, good values, accomplished professional and strategist.
I hope and suggest that she will make a good PRESS SECRETARY and good addition to an Obama administration.
Love your courage, Ms Lisa Ling.

Lisa Ling isn’t displayed because she isn’t black. As time goes on this will become glaringly more clear. Fact is Obama is racist in every regard and simply because he cloaks it well should provide no comfort. He will spit on your grave in a New York moment. He will spit on anyone’s grave if the payback is there.

Obama is featuring people of all races in his bid for the presidency, and being very open about his regard and respect for all people.
Ms. Ling is a celebrity who is as much a part of the campaign as any of his other celebrity supporters– in this election, it will be issues, ideology, and a view of the future that is multicultural and truly American on display. It’s beautiful.

I like Lisa Ling, but sadly gone are the days where journalists had objectivity or at least kept personal preferences to themselves. Then again, Lisa’s mom was at the RNC 2000 convention where Bush was nominated.
