Gov. Gary Locke for Obama

Posted by Asian Americans for Obama

Former Governor of Washington State, Gary Locke, the first Chinese American governor of a US state, announced yesterday that he was switching his support to Sen. Obama after serving as co-chair of Sen. Clinton’s Washington campaign.  Governor Locke’s switch was one of dozens of Clinton supporter switches, signaling that the primary phase of the campaign is indeed over with Sen. Obama as the nominee.

According to the Oregonian,

Locke revealed his support for Obama earlier in the day in an
interview with The Seattle Times. Locke, the nation’s first
Chinese-American governor, said he stands ready to help Obama reach out
to minority voters around the country if needed.

"I’m glad that it’s come to an end," Locke said. "I did not want this matter to go to the convention. We need to be united."

As a Chinese American who went to the same college as Governor Locke, he has been a great hero of mine, so I’d like to welcome Governor Locke aboard, and I know he’ll work hard to help Sen. Obama win the White House in November!
