Georgia Senate Runoff - Why the AAPI Vote Still Counts

Posted by Eugenia

On the Ground in Georgia: Why the AAPI vote still counts

Here are pictures of the early voting lines in DeKalb County, in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, November 26th. It’s about 6 PM, the night before Thanksgiving. The lines are stretching into three rooms — perhaps 200 to 300 people. Earlier in the day, there’s a wait of over an hour (but at this time of day, it’s only twenty minutes).

NYCAAFO GOTV Phonebank Schedule for Jim Martin

Posted by Eugenia

Dear Phonebankers,

Please see the attached phonebank schedule with a few additional phonebanks added since the last schedule I shared with you. Thanks to all of you who attended tonight’s Jim Martin Fundraiser
and/or supported us in our outreach efforts. We raised over $3,000 — a huge success for a low-dollar fundraiser! Let’s continue our efforts by attending phonebanks and insuring Georgia voters continue this
movement toward change!

With hope,
Deanna Tilley

Jim Martin Fundraiser on 11/24

Posted by Eugenia

Dear Friends,

Please join us this Monday, November 24th as we gather to support Democratic Georgia Senate candidate Jim Martin! We had a great victory on November 4th, but there is still more to do to insure President Obama has the support he needs to bring about the change that has inspired so many to move.

Phonebank for Jim Martin Using MyBarackObama.com

Posted by Eugenia

Dear Friend,

Real change is coming to America because of the support of hundreds of thousands of Georgians and Americans just like you.  Because of your hard work, Georgia is one of America’s newest battleground states.

But our work is not yet done. Jim Martin, our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, faces a runoff on December 2 with Republican Saxby Chambliss. Jim has a lifetime of experience fighting for Georgia’s middle class, while Saxby has established himself over six years in the Senate as a powerful ally of the special interests and corporate lobbyists. Jim will fight to support President Obama in the Senate, while Saxby Chambliss has told Georgia that he will do everything in his power to stonewall and filibuster President Obama’s vision of change.

Thank You from Virginia AAPI Field Director Bao Nguyen

Posted by Eugenia

A beautiful testimonial from VA AAPI Field Director Bao Nguyen - thank you to Bao and to VA for making this happen! :)

This journey has been incredibly tiring and I have spent the last few days resting and reminiscing about it all. With that said, I wanted to thank you all for being part of this amazing journey. We were able to turn Virginia Blue for the first time in 44 years, we were able to put this country in the right direction again, and we were all a part of history as we helped elect the nation’s first African-American President. This could not have happened without all your efforts.

How to Help Jim Martin in Georgia

Posted by Eugenia

Hi everyone - Even though we won a great victory on Tuesday, there’s still more work to be done. Folks in Georgia are still working very hard to get Jim Martin elected to the U.S. Senate (and to get Saxby Chambliss out!). There’ll be a runoff on December 2, which is coming up very soon. Please take a moment to find out more about how you can help out!

Thank You to the Asian American Outreach

Posted by Eugenia

A lovely thank you from Elizabeth Lynch of NYCAAFO. Elizabeth, thank YOU. For everything. :)

Dear Asian American Outreach,

It has been a long, hard fought battle that has finally ended the only way it could - in victory. I was nervous up until Election Day morning but once I started seeing pictures coming in from New York City and Los Angeles of people waiting on lines to vote for Barack Obama, knowing that their state was going Democratic anyway, I started to realize that something huge was about to happen.
